The Challenge

Anyone managing more than one social account ends up juggling a separate posting tool, a separate writing tool and a separate analytics view, then repeats the whole cycle for every client. The goal was a single dashboard where scheduling, content generation and reporting live together, and where an agency can run its own brand and its clients' brands side by side.

The Solution

Trounce is built on Next.js with Zustand for client state and MongoDB behind it. The hardest part wasn't the UI. Every social network has a different publishing API, different media rules and a different auth handshake, so each integration sits behind a common interface and the scheduling layer treats all seven the same way.

AI as a drafting step, not a replacement

The OpenAI integration turns a short description into captions, hashtag sets and longer posts. It's framed as a first draft the user edits, never something that publishes unattended. Social copy going out under a client's name is no place for unreviewed output.

Built for agencies, not just individuals

The collaboration model was the key product decision. Campaigns can be drafted, reviewed and approved before anything reaches a live account, and Stripe handles subscription tiers including a dedicated agency plan.
